Murder investigation launched after man stabbed to death in Chelsea

A murder investigation has been launched after a man was stabbed to death in Chelsea, west London.

Police were called to Cathcart Road at 10.20pm on Wednesday to reports of yet another stabbing in the capital.

It is the latest in a series of violent deaths this year.

The London Ambulance Service attended the scene after the man, believed to be in his 40s, was found with multiple stab wounds.

He was pronounced dead at the scene, just metres from Chelsea and Westminster Hospital, shortly after 11pm.

He has not been formally identified but his next of kin have been informed.

A post-mortem examination will take place in due course, police said.

Detectives from the Homicide and Major Crime Command are investigating and a crime scene remains in place.

No arrests have been made.

More than 60 people have been killed so far in London in 2018 - most of them with a knife.

On Monday, police charged a 22-year-old man with murder after a 30-year-old was stabbed to death on a busy street in Islington.
