Nestled in Lisnaskea, Drumhaw Fold has been providing independent apartments for over 55- year-olds since 1990, next to all of the local amenities. Since opening, tenants aged 55 to 95, from a variety of backgrounds, have called Drumhaw home.

Not only does Drumhaw provide accommodation, but they also plan events to provide entertainment for the tenants.

On Friday, June 7, Laura Browne provided singing for all to enjoy with some afternoon tea. Funding for this event was acquired by Allison Forbes from South West Age Partnership (SWAP). Also present was Mandy’s grandson, Alex McClune as Drumhaw frequently encourages families and friends to attend events as well, making them fun for the whole family.

In addition to these events, they also have full weeks of fun for the tenants as they are picked up by Drumhaw Day Centre, Monday to Friday, to enjoy a variety of activities under the management of Heather Bothwell.

Mandy Graham, Scheme Co-ordinator, has lived and worked there for over 24 years and has praised the strong links between themselves and the local community.

Drumhaw prides themselves on the excellent communication they keep with social workers and Maple Health Centre, as well as their impressive list of service providers including hairdresser Allison Ross accommodates the tenants every Wednesday and weekly catering by Glen Cawley from Gilleeces Chip Shop.

The Lisnaskea Women’s Group also meets at Drumhaw Fold every Wednesday fortnight in the common room, organised by Lena Benson and Valerie Brown.

Drumhaw Fold’s long history of support has no plans to stop as over the past two years they have undergone a major refurbishment both internally and externally, extending the warmth and care of the workers to the look of the building.

All are welcome to come and have a look around. If interested feel free to contact Mandy on 02867722133 or Radius Housing on 03301230888 and enjoy the new and improved Drumhaw Fold.
