Music fans invited to Eaglesfest II marking 25 years of gigs with 'stunning line-up'

Music fans are being invited to a Teesside festival marking 25 years of gigs with a "stunning line-up".

The Waiting Room in Eaglescliffe is putting on a day-long music festival on Saturday, April 13, at the restaurant on Station Road, and nearby Preston & Eaglescliffe Social Club. "Eaglesfest II" features bands who've played the restaurant's "Waiting for Sunday" gig night, which has been running for 25 years; including several special album release shows, all in one place, in a day.

Withered Hand and Mercury prize-nominated Kathryn Williams will play an exclusive pre-release show together for their eagerly anticipated collaborative album Willson Williams.

Ariel Sharratt and Mathias Kom of Canada's The Burning Hell will team up with visual artist and indie rock legend Shotgun Jimmie - to blast through a multidisciplinary show that brings their sold out album of Never Work to life with a fully functional robot drummer. The now re-pressed Never Work is an album of contemporary labour songs, that is filled with Kom's customary wry wit and literary rock n roll sensibility.

"Eaglesfest II" also features London's Spirits Of Saturn - bringing the disco, with a twist of Kraftwerk, Toronto's Mad Ones - bringing the rock and grunge, and local superstars Jodie Nicholson (in the week of her new single release) Dressed Like Wolves, Gone Tomorrow, Abel Raise The Cain and Frazer Lambert.

On Sunday, April 14, The Waiting Room will put on a quiet after party - featuring acoustic acts, and entertaining talks by the legendary Bob Fischer, and artist Jake Clark. The restaurant's leftfield arts and music night "Waiting for Sunday" returns this month with Dominie Hooper playing on April 21, and further shows about to be announced.

The Waiting Room restaurant described the festival line-up as "stunning" with the team eagerly counting down the days to the celebrations. For Tickets and band profiles visit www.thewaitingroom.uk/events -
