Nadine Coyle has admitted the rest of Girls Aloud are not her “best mates” but they are back in touch after Cheryl reached out to her.

The girlband - Coyle, Cheryl, Sarah Harding, Kimberley Walsh and Nicola Roberts - formed on Popstars The Rivals in 2002 and split in 2013 amid rumours of a feud.

Coyle, 34, has told OK! magazine: “It's been seven years since the last reunion tour and it feels like seven years!

"Cheryl emailed me recently and I bumped into Kimberley [Walsh] a few weeks ago as well, which was lovely. I haven't seen Sarah Harding or Nicola in a long time, but everything remains very cordial.

"We're not best mates, it's just the way it's always been.

"I'm very close to a lot of people from my time in the band, like our hair and make-up people and the dancers, but you gravitate towards the people that you have stuff in common with."

Walsh, 38, recently sparked rumours of a reunion.

She told The Sun: “We do have an anniversary coming up. It will have been 20 years in 2022, it’s a long way off still.

“Everybody is busy at the moment, but I have a lot of love for all the girls, I’m proud of all of them.”

During her time in the jungle on I’m A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! last year, Coyle revealed she had never been close to her bandmates.

She said: "Everyone gets on with their lives. I mean I was friends with them all, it was fine. It was all nice and lovely and subtle.

"But I was always in the gay bars with all the guys, I would be out partying, me and ten guys would be out partying, making the most of it. I was 18, 19-years-old, I would be going wild. [I’d go to bed] at 8am or 9am in the morning!”
