Naked City festival: Line-up, set times, tickets and everything you need to know

A brand new festival is coming to south east London this weekend.

Naked City, which has been launched by Krankbrother, will take over a site never before used by a music festival.

The line-up itself has a fresh feel to it, as well. When announcing the festival back in March, organisers claimed they wanted an event that was “deliberately looking away from the usual headliners” who dominate the festival circuit, with a “particular emphasis on acts that cut their teeth in the boiling south London music scene.”

It all means Naked City is shaping up to be a hugely promising new one-dayer. Here is everything you need to know about it.

When is Naked City?

The festival will take place on Saturday July 27, running from midday until 10.30pm.

Where is Naked City?

It will all go down within Beckenham Place Park, a recently converted golf course in south east London. It’s the first time a festival has ever been held on the site, so it will be fascinating to see how it adapts.

Who’s on the Naked City line up? And what are the set times?

The line-up has been split into four general areas. The Main Stage, which will sit right in front of the park’s recently opened swimming lake, will open with a set from the ever-colourful selector Donna Leake. Yazmin Lacey and Fatima will deliver their vocal excellence, before a three-set run from some of the biggest names in London jazz: Moses Boyd, Ezra Collective and Kamaal Williams. The inimitable Neneh Cherry plays the final set.

The Somethin’ Else stage, set among the trees, delivers a wide-ranging line-up of performers from the hip-hop stylings of Onra to the Ghanaian dance rhythms of Ata Kak.

Located on an old putting green with views over the rest of the site, the Bunker will host the majority of the festival’s DJs, with Henry Wu, Mafalda, Alexander Nut and LTJ Bukem all lined up to helm the decks.

Meanwhile, the Acoustic Stage is an intriguing prospect. Only three acts are scheduled to perform there — Ezra Collective, Fatima and Yazmin Lacey — but precisely what kind of set they’ll be playing remains to be seen.
