Yeovil's Chris Lintern has been crowned JTL’s National Apprentice of the Year 2024.

JTL, a top apprenticeship provider in England and Wales, held the annual ceremony at the British Motor Museum on June 13.

Mr Lintern completed his apprenticeship at Spectrum Electrical Group and was originally named a Regional Electrical Award winner at JTL’s Regional Awards.

Outperforming 10 other regional winners, he triumphed at the national level.

He received a silver cup, an engraved glass trophy, and a cheque for £1,500.

JTL’s awards recognize top-performing, newly qualified apprentices nominated by their training officers for their exceptional four-year work.

Chris Claydon, chief executive at JTL, said: “It has been a pleasure to learn more about Chris’ journey, along with the other finalists.

"His award is very well deserved, and I wish him all the best in his career following this milestone."

Mr Lintern said: "It feels amazing to be named the national winner, I’m very proud to be recognised for what I’ve achieved.

"Next in my career, I want to do some more electrical-based training, excel a bit more in the industry and keep working as hard as I can.

He added that he would encourage anyone looking to get on the career ladder to consider doing an apprenticeship.
