Neighbours has confirmed that Shaun Watkins will be officially declared dead next week.

Finn Kelly and Elly Conway will both be left devastated when they learn that authorities have lost hope for Shaun (Brad Moller) after he was caught up in an avalanche abroad.

As we revealed recently, disaster strikes for Shaun while he's away on a trip to Switzerland.

Shaun's loved ones initially hear that he's missing and they should await further updates. However, next week sees the story continue, with Finn (Rob Mills) taking a call to confirm that Shaun is officially considered dead.

The tragedy brings Susan Kennedy back to Ramsay Street from London, wanting to support Elly as she processes the news about the father of her unborn baby.

Although Elly initially seems stoic, she soon disappears and fails to answer any calls.

When Finn gets an idea from David Tanaka and Aaron Brennan over where Elly might be, he races to find her – worried that she's in the last place she needs to be.

Later in the week, Bea starts to feel increasingly useless as Finn and Elly both rely on each other for support rather than her.

Bea persists with a well-meaning attempt to distract her grieving sister, but it only makes Elly even more upset.

Feeling terrible, Bea makes amends with Elly and Finn by organising an impromptu memorial service for Shaun at Lassiters lake.

Bea is relieved when this proves to be a breakthrough, allowing Elly and Finn to move one step closer to dealing with Shaun's demise.

Neighbours airs these scenes on Monday, October 28 and Tuesday, October 29 at 1.45pm and 5.30pm on Channel 5 (UK) and 6.30pm on 10 Peach (Australia).
