Neighbours has dropped the biggest hint yet that David and Leo Tanaka's father could be a member of the Udagawa family.

The brothers have spent months searching for their long-lost dad, but they hit a major stumbling block this week when they had to rule out Bradley Satchwell - who'd always been their number one suspect.

Although David and Leo currently have no idea, a brand new clue has now presented itself on screen - with Jasmine Udagawa getting very shifty after looking into the Tanakas.

It all started in Friday's episode when Terese Willis (Rebekah Elmaloglou) pointed out to Jasmine that her grandfather seemed worried when Leo Tanaka was mentioned recently.

Jasmine promised to look into it, but she didn't seem too concerned herself - warning Terese to focus all of her efforts on bringing down Paul Robinson and his businesses.

Changing her mind in a flash, Jasmine later returned to see Terese at The Waterhole and abruptly ordered her to concentrate on Leo instead. Talk about a u-turn!

What's even more suspicious is that Jasmine doesn't just want Terese to bring down Leo's Backpackers business, she's also desperate to see him driven out of town for good. She certainly doesn't mess about...

She told Terese: "Paul is no longer our priority. There are bigger issues to concern ourselves with now. I've looked further into competitors in the local region and I'd like you to re-focus on Leo Tanaka.

"Circumstances have changed. Lassiters would be best served if Leo Tanaka wasn't in its orbit. I want a strategy to drive Leo and his business out of Erinsborough - I'm sure you'll think of something effective."

Of course, it doesn't take a genius to figure out that this sudden shift smells of something personal rather than just business-related.

Has Jasmine discovered a link between the Tanaka and the Udagawa families? And if so, is it only a matter of time before the truth comes out?
