Lennon is currently in Slovenia for pre-season preparations with new club Rapid Bucharest but the Irishman took time out make a financial contribution - and pay tribute - on a fundraising page set up for McCourt.

The page is aiming to raise £5000 "to assists with funeral expenses and to buy a memorial bench for Tam McCourt" who Lennon worked alongside during his time in the Easter Road hot-seat. Scotland star John McGinn got to know him at Hibs before the midfielder moved to Aston Villa and spoke of his sadness at his passing.

McGinn, speaking while in Germany for Euro 2024, said: "Wee Tam was the first person I saw when I walked through the door at Hibs. He was an absolutely amazing guy. Unless you wanted. Pair of fresh socks or a fresh towel. He always gave me the crusty ones because I would wind him up.

"I can’t get Joyce (wife) and Thomas (son) out my head and just on behalf of all us Hibees, especially me and Porto (Ryan Porteous), over the last few days, we’re thinking of the you and the family”.
