Rapper Nelly has taken a swipe at Madonna over risqué snaps she posted on social media.

The singer, 63, shared photographs of herself during a racy photoshoot to her 17.5 million Instagram on Friday.

She posed in her fishnet tights, lace underwear and boots on the bonnet of a car, posting the pictures with the caption “Car trouble” and several emojis.

But Nelly, 47, has blasted the singer. He commented: “Some things should just be left covered up.”

Madonna’s fans rushed to her defence, saying she looked “stunning”.

Others confronted the rapper about the remark. Among the comments, one said: “@Nelly because she’s female? Would you comment on a Male artist? It’s ok though, her legacy far out-stands yours.”

Another said: “I love that Madonna doesn’t give a s*** what anybody thinks.”

Rapper Ja Rule added: “How can you not love Madonna?”

Another posted: “Madonna has always been a free, sexual woman who pushes boundaries with her music, style and artistic creativity. Age and motherhood does not change any of that. I hope she always pushes the limits , stays true to herself and continues not to give AF. #icon”

One image showed Madonna posing against a sofa in a matching black corset and pants, paired with a hat and high-heeled boots.

In the final picture, she donned a military-style jacket emblazoned with the words “God save the queen” in gold on the back.

Nelly is not the only rapper to make comments about Madonna’s Instagram photographs.

50 Cent recently caused controversy after he made comments about a series of images the singer posted to her social media, showing her in lingerie lying on and under a bed.

Then 50 Cent reposted one image with the caption: “Yo this is the funniest s***! LOL. That’s Madonna under the bed trying to do like a virgin at 63. she shot out, if she don’t get her old a** up. LMFAO.”

The Queen of Pop responded: “I guess your new career is getting attention while trying to humiliate others. The least elevated choice you could make as an artist or an adult. You’re just jealous you won’t look as good as me or have as much fun when you are my age!”

In a since-deleted Tweet, 50 then apologised. He said: “I’m sorry I did not intend to hurt your feelings. I don’t benefit from this in anyway. I said what I thought when I saw the picture because of where I had seen it before I hope you accept my apology.”

Madonna replied saying his apology was “fake”, “b*******t” and “not valid”.
