Newcastle bar offering free 'replacement' pints for ones spilt during England games

A Newcastle bar is ofrfering free 'replacement' pints during England v Slovakia on Sunday, meaning any fans that see their drink go flying when England (hopefully!) score a goal, can claim another one on the house.

We've all seen the scenes across the country from those heady days of summer 2028 when Covid wasn't a thing and we all genuinely believed that football was coming home as Gareth Southgate's team made it all the way to the semi finals at the World Cup in Russia. With the UK basking in glorious sunshine at the time, outdoor fan zones were the place to be for fans wanting to cheer England on and, whether it be Box Park in London or Times Square in Newcastle, there was one sight that was the same everywhere - pints going everywhere whenever the Three Lions found the back of the net, or when Jordan Pickford pulled off a wonder save in the shoot out against Colombia.

While there hasn't been too much to celebrate so far from England in Euro 2024, they topped their group, they're into the last 16 and are on on, what is on paper at least, the 'right side' of the draw. Next up for them is the knockout tie against Slovakia on Sunday and one place in Newcastle city centre that is sure to be packed out for it is The Wonder Bar.

The Gate haunt is a big favourite with NUFC fans on match days and has also proved popular for England games too. And if you're heading along on Sunday or to the next England game/s if they go any further and are worried/hoping you'll end up losing your pint in the celebrations, The Wonder Bar has teamed up with world famous brand Heineken to offer a free replacement pint on the house for any 'accidental spillages.'

All fans need to do is to look out for a special QR code that will be displayed on posters around the bar and on limited edition beer mats on tables; scan it, enter some basic information then take the voucher to the bar to claim the free drink.

The Wonder Bar is one of only five pubs in England to be offering the replacement pints, with the others being in Leeds, Manchester, London and Liverpool.
