Newcastle club lifts football shirt 'ban' for night of England game as dress code relaxed

A Newcastle night club is relaxing its dress code this week for one night only, with football tops allowed as big turnout is expected following England's second Euro 2024 match against Denmark.

Hopes were high for the Three Lion's chances at the Germany tournament, three years after their penalty shoot out heartache against Italy in Euro 2020 and, despite their rather lacklustre start against Serbia on Sunday, where they triumphed in a 1-0 win, there will still be plenty of interest in their second group tie on Thursday.

Bars ands fan zones across Newcastle were packed at the weekend and there looks set to be similar scenes on Thursday, June 20, when Gareth Southgate's men will be hoping to get another three points against a Denmark side who only managed a draw against Slovenia in their opener.

And if you are out in the city centre for the match and want to make a night of it (hopefully to celebrate an England win!) you will be able to get into Tup Tup Palace in your football shirt as it plays host to its weekly Jungle club night. Jungle is one of the most popular nights in the city and, whatever the score is for England v Denmark, it's sure to be a popular draw with revellers in the city.

A post on the event's Instagram page broke news of the lifting of the ban on football tops on Monday evening. Early bird tickets for the night are available online HERE for as little as £3.
