Newcastle & Hartshill enjoy fine day on the road in NSSCL Division Six

Newcastle & Hartshill thirds won by seven wickets on their NSSCL Division Six trip to Nantwich.

The Dabbers batted first and made their way to 150-5 from their 40 overs.

Max Hassall set the standard with 61, which contained 10 fours, while David Hine (32) and Ethan McGregor (24no) lent valuable support.

Isaac McKeown was the star turn with the ball for Castle, snaring 3-18.

Castle were always in control of the chase and crossed the line with more than 12 overs to spare.

Thenuka Angoda compiled 61 not out, which featured 10 boundaries, while Ben Ford (49no) and Jacob Maddock (25) also impressed.

Woore seconds won on the road as well as they prevailed at Meakins thirds.

John Tellwright’s unbeaten 81 anchored Woore’s innings as they posted 199-3.

Tellwright’s knock included 12 fours, with Lee Pinches (44) and Andrew Burton (36) also in fine fettle.

Alfie Radzins (38) and Abdullar Hashi (33) starred for Meakins in their post-tea reply.

However, Iliana Chatzigeorgiou and Molly Ferneyhough captured 5-37 and 3-20 respectively to dismiss Meakins for 132.

Wood Lane won by seven wickets at Oakamoor thirds.

James Bell’s 3-21 was key to Oakamoor being limited to 139-6 early on.

Jonathan Wood top-scored with 30, with Jack Day (28) lending support.

Matt Hagan then used his experience to make 45 to orchestrate Wood Lane’s successful chase.

Endon seconds were in handy form to bank the spoils against Rode Park & Lawton 2nd XI.

Endon were set 158 for the points - and notched a three-wicket win with 14 balls left.

Paul Fox struck 43 for the victors, with Andrew Sibley and Peter Slinn weighing in with 35 and 30 not put respectively.

Andrew Marshall claimed 5-16 for Rode Park & Lawton having earlier made 41 in his side’s 157-9.

Scott Cheadle (37) also impressed, while Lewis Hamnett (4-27) took the Endon bowling honours.

Whitmore thirds defeated Onneley seconds.

C Gangoda’s 73 was the main effort in Whitmore’s 211-7, ably supported by L Illeperuma’s 44. M Razaq scooped 3-24 for Onneley.

O Safi replied with 50 and M Ausaf added 37, but Onneley were dismissed for 164.

In the division's other game, Moddershall & Oulton sixths defeated Blythe seconds.
