Newcastle United players 'favourite' restaurant confirmed for St James' Stack

You might well see a few Newcastle United stars kicking about the new Stack in town over the next few months as a place they're no stranger to has been confirmed as one of the food vendors at the new development right next to St James' Park.

There was a lot of excitement from everyone in Newcastle, when plans for the new Stack, presented by sponsors Sela, were first revealed; with the food and drink complex on Strawberry Place now nearing the end of its construction. And now as the 2024/5 Premier League season fast approaches, with NUFC starting with a home game against Southampton on Saturday, August 17, more details have now been announced on what people can expect.

Stack's food and drink vendors were unveiled in full on Thursday morning and among them is Brack Burger, the local business that was born during Covid and this year reached the national finals of the Uber Eats awards. The business, which has bases in Jesmond, Tynemouth, Gosforth, launched in Stack Seaburn last year and, much to the delight of its owners and big football fans Joe and Ollie Brack, will now also have a home in the shadow of St James'.

Brack Burger was the restaurant visited by many of the Newcastle United first team, including Kieran Trippier, Callum Wilson and Sean Longstaff, last May to celebrate making the Champions League, with them and other squad members regularly championing the burger aficionados on their social media too.

Over the moon at being part of the new Stack, Joe took to Instagram to post: "This could possibly be our favourite announcement to date. Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you will of heard of STACK partnering with Newcastle United to open up a dedicated fanzone and 7 day a week street food and entertainment venue next to St. James’ Park.

"It gives us great pleasure to share with you all today that we will be one of the 11 traders joining St. James’ Stack powered by Sela when they open their doors this Summer."

He added: "Being born in Newcastle, growing up here, being a season ticket holder, black and white through and through & having friends play there over the past however many years, it really is a dream come true. If 12 year old Joe Brack could see this now."
