From St James' Park to Ramsay Street - Newcastle United manager Eddie Howe has lived out the dreams of many soap fans across the world, by getting to step on the set of Neighbours.

A win at Brentford on the last day of the Premier League season on Sunday, means that the Magpies' European fate now rests in the hands of the outcome of this weekend's FA Cup Final, with United and their fans hoping Manchester United don't snatch victory from arch rivals and Premier League champions Man City.

But, for now, Eddie's side are focused on their Australian tour, which kicks off with a match against Spurs on Wednesday, as United are joined Down Under by legions of Geordie fans. And, before kick off, manager Eddie, together with coaches Stephen Purches and Graeme Jones, got to meet some of the stars of Neighbours, as he went behind the scenes of the hit Aussie soap.

There was heartbreak for the show's legions of fans worldwide, when Channel 5 pulled the plug in 2022 and the final episode aired in July of that year, as legendary stars Kylie Minogue and Jason Donovan made a brief return. However, there was a soap worthy twist in the tale when, just months later, it was revealed that Amazon had picked up Neighbours to resurrect it on Freevee in the UK and US.

And, one of a number of famous characters to be brought back is Susan Kennedy. Actress Jackie Woodburne has been in the role of the Erinsborough High principal since the 90s, with on of her biggest storylines being when she found out about husband Karl's affair with secretary Sarah, prompting one of the most iconic soap slaps of all time.

The photos of Eddie, Stephen and Graeme on Ramsay Street got a big reaction when they were shared on the NUFC Insta, with one fan responding: "Imagine putting a bet on Eddie and Susan Kennedy getting a pic together this year."
