Newcastle's Paul Dummett gets surprising 'new job' with famous fan after United exit

His contract with Newcastle United doesn't officially end until Sunday but Paul Dummett has already landed a 'new job' alongside another face well known to Magpies supporters.

It was confirmed after the season ended that Paul, a loyal servant to NUFC since his days as an academy youngster would be leaving the club after 24 years, 12 of those in the first team. As his exit was confirmed, the popular defender took to Instagram to write: "I grew up a Newcastle fan and a season ticket holder, joining the club as an eight-year-old. Leaving at 32, my time at Newcastle is something I could only have dreamed of.

"24 years dedicating my life playing for Newcastle United, I leave with my held high and proud of the achievements we've had as a team, in my time here."

Local lad Paul recently jetted off to Ibiza and then Italy for keeper Mark Gillespie's stag do and wedding and he'd also found the time to appear in an advert for a business who will be setting up shop right next to St James' Park for the new Stack development right in the shadow of Newcastle's famous stadium.

On Thursday, the food vendors for St James' Stack were unveiled and among them was Brack Burger, who already have a site at Stack in Seaburn, as well as restaurants in Jesmond, Gosforth and Tynemouth. And, as they celebrated being confirmed for Stack, Brack Burger released a video on their socials which sees well known Newcastle fan and YouTuber, Adam Pearson, walk up to the Brack Burger stand at Stack, to the sound of the Blaydon Races.

And, when he gets to the counter to order an OG burger, he is served by none other than Paul, who asks if he'd like "fries with that as well mate." The clip was released onto Brack Burger's socials on Thursday night with the caption 'Ordering an OG from The OG' and, by Friday afternoon, had been liked by nearly 6,000 people.

Among the many people to comment was Paul's ex NUFC teammate Andy Carroll, who reacted with a series of crying laughing emojis, as another Instagram user replied: "No way!! Two absolute legends of Newcastle"
