1000 Days Of The Duchess Of Cambridge: Why Life's Better With Kate Middleton

It's been 1000 days since Kate Middleton walked down the aisle and became the Duchess of Cambridge and WHAT a millennium of days it's been. To celebrate the amazing milestone for Team Cambridge we're giving thanks for EVERYTHING we would've missed out on if Kate hadn't married old William.

Let's face it before Kate and Wills got hitched the last big royal wedding people went on about was Charles and Diana's (sorry Fergie) so for anyone not old enough to remember the Summer of 1981 it was a bit annoying to hear people going on and on and on about her hair and that dress. Since the Eighties have been confirmed as the decade style forgot, Kate finally gave us un update. Alexander McQueen, loads of lace and a bridesmaid butt scandal means we can FINALLY forget about Charles and Diana.

Let's face it none of the royal family are exactly lookers. FINALLY they've got someone a little bit glamorous in their midst, managing to turn Trooping The Colour into a fashion event. (Yes that's something every fashionista now cares about).

Union Jack Flags and bunting

Thanks to the royal wedding the people of the UK now own an abundance of Union Jacks to wave and red white and blue bunting. Never before had we known the joy of waving a flag. Thankfully we got to do it again at the Diamond Jubilee and Olympics but the Royal Wedding really started it off for us.

It was always Kate's mum Carole that hit the headlines when it came to the Duchess' parents, so if he hadn't had a starring role in her wedding we might have never known just what a silver fox he is.

Kate's even managed to bring us the biggest nude royal scandal of all time. Move over naked Prince Harry in Las Vegas, Kate actually got papped topless in France during a private holiday with Prince William in September 2012. The world was HORRIFIED, but we all googled it anyway, and what followed was a very angry statement from the palace, arrests in France and a very dignified Kate. Let's face it all it confirmed was her body is HOT.

The Royal Baby

Before last December the phrase "royal baby" meant nothing, nine months later it had a reluctant world's press camped outside the Lindo Wing of St Mary's Hospital as they waited for Kate to give birth. Baby fever was almost crazier than royal wedding fever with every news camera pointed for days at the door of the hospital.

Finally they emerged and Kate presented Prince George of Cambridge - cue every girl in the world bursting into tears.

Kate's little sister almost stole the show from the bride at the royal wedding with her uber tight dress, bum flashing antics and flirtathon with Prince Harry. We all hope and pray they hooked up and it made the wedding even better to watch. Such flirts.

Before Kate it was just known as "wearing" clothes, but everytime the Duchess wears something she's - shock horror - worn before the world goes into melt down. From claims she's thrifty, to an example of why she's "normal" we now and forever will refer to ourselves as "recycling" our numerous jumpers with pride.
