Adele Snaps Up 'Never Before Seen' Portrait Of Kate Middleton, Duchess Of Cambridge

Popstar Adele has bagged herself a never seen before painting of Kate Middleton, the Duchess of Cambridge, for her fancy pad in Brighton, according to reports.

Having been impressed with one of his Albert Einstein portraits, the 25-year-old singer roped artist Darren Coffield to create the painting.

“It’s my ironic take on celebrity that made Adele come in to see my work,” the artist told Daily Star. “I did Kate Middleton and I’m sending that to her.”

Adding: “She was asking whether I would take a commission to paint her or maybe someone in her family. I was actually going to do a portrait of her anyway but didn’t get around to it. I don’t know how I’d do her, but probably not receiving her medal.”

Coffield also reckons the 'Rolling In The Deep' hitmaker was picked because of his quirky style. He went on to say: “By doing upside-down celeb images I’m trying to say you can’t trust the images projected in the media, because the camera always lies in the 21st Century.

“Everything’s retouched, and Adele likes that notion.”

Meanwhile, Adele was invited to Buckingham Palace last month where she was presented with her Member of the Order of the British Empire by Prince Charles, 65, for her services to the music industry which has included scoring the best-selling album of the 21st century with '21,' and several Grammys.

In a statement released after she received the honour, Adele said: “It was an honour to be recognised and a very proud moment to be awarded alongside such wonderful and inspirational people. Very posh indeed.”
