Amy Winehouse's Father Discovers Unheard Track As 30th Birthday Approaches

Amy Winehouse's father has unearthed an unheard track recorded by the late songstress, coinciding with what would have been the songstress' 30th birthday this weekend.

The 'Tears Dry On Their Own' singer, who passed away in 2011, released two albums during her lifetime, her 2003 debut Frank and Grammy-winning 'Back To Black,' which spawned several popular singles however, there is still apparently plenty of material from Amy's back catalogue which has been locked away as her father, Mitch Winehouse, has discovered a brand new track.

“The guy engineering it pressed the button on some old tapes in the studio and there was Amy singing this great song nobody had heard before,” Mitch told the Daily Star.

Amy passed away in June, 2011 at the age of 27 due to alcohol poisoning and would have celebrated her 30th birthday on September 14.

The singer's family have since set up the Amy Winehouse Foundation in her memory and will be launching a new exhibition of paintings of photographs in tribute to the late star, titled For You I Was A Flame, held at the Proud Galleries in Camden.

Speaking about the exhibition, Mitch said: “I feel very emotional today seeing all these wonderful pictures of Amy but really it is no different to any other day at the foundation.

“We're surrounded by this stuff and I'm glad we've got the foundation because I don't know what we'd do otherwise. It's helped us a great deal, helping other people has helped us selfishly a great deal and without it I think we would be a lot worse than we are.”
