Did Katie Holmes Leave Tom Cruise Because Suri Was Turning Into 'A Monster'?

When Katie Holmes filed for divorce from Tom Cruise it was clear that her daughter Suri was her main concern and now reports have emerged that she decided to split from her husband of five years because the six year-old was turning into “a monster”.

The 33 year-old actress filed for divorce last month (June 28) and at the same time petitioned for sole-custody for daughter Suri rather than joint. The couple avoided a lengthy and public custody battle by agreeing on a divorce settlement just 11 days later through their lawyers, which awarded primary custody to Katie.

Now according to HollywoodLife the motivation for the split was Suri's increasingly bad behaviour. “Katie saw that Suri was growing into a monster,” a source told the website.

“She wants to really become a parent and start teaching her strong discipline. Suri’s life is going to change.”

Since finalising the divorce Katie has done just that. Not only enrolling Suri in school for the first time but sending her to one of the strictest and oldest Catholic schools in the US, Convent of the Sacred Heart whose past alumni includes Lady Gaga and Paris Hilton. She has also been seen doing normal day to day things with her daughter such as food shopping and going to the zoo with friends.

Referring to the all girls school the source said: “Suri is not used to sharing or playing with other kids, so going to school will be a big change for her,”

“Katie wants her to get used to that. She just wants her to be a normal kid.” But it hasn't been easy with head-strong Suri putting up a fight.

“There has been some resistance,” the source confessed.

“But Suri adores her mom. So, little by little, she’s starting to listen. Katie is taking everything very slowly.”

Sounds like Katie is coping great as a single mum! While she she has been spending most of her time with the 'Batman Begins' actress since the split, Suri was reunited with her father Tom Cruise yesterday (July 17) for the first time since her parents' announced their separation.
