Dr Dre's Son Still Flying Economy Despite Father Becoming First Billionaire In Hip-Hop

Dr Dre may be the richest man in hip-hop after reportedly becoming a billionaire last week but the legendary producer's son hasn't seen a dime of his famous father's fortune and was spotted taking a commercial flight to Mexico yesterda - and he was sitting in coach.

The 54-year-old celebrated last week after selling his Beats Electronics company to Apple for a whopping $3.2 billion making him the richest person in the rap game but it doesn't look like Dre has been sharing his good fortune just yet.

TMZ caught up with Dre's eldest son Curtis Young this week at Ontario airport, near Los Angeles and he wasn't exactly living the high-flying jet life most would assume due to his dad's great big windfall as he was seen boarding an economy flight to Mexico.

When asked why his father hasn't splashed the cash on him yet, Curtis replied: “I don't know, that'd be nice right now. I'm about to fly coach man, I'm hungry. It's all good though.”

The aspiring rapper seems keen to earn his own money, telling the pap: “That's his money, I knew he was gonna do it and I'm proud of him. Much power to him. He on the rise, he might be a trillionaire, you never know.”

He reiterated: “Like I said that's his money, he took it to another level in hip-hop and I'm proud of him. A lot of people will never reach that. I don't know how it feels to wake up and be the first richest rapper in hip-hop, to reach a billion dollars. You'll never see that.”

When the pap joked that Curtis could be held for ransom in Mexico thanks to his famous father, he laughed: “If it's my time to go like that, it is what it is!”
