Edith Bowman: Tom Cruise 'Saved My Life'

Tom Cruise is apparently a hero on and off the screen, with DJ Edith Bowman revealed that she had a near-death incident but was saved by the actor, who was “great fun”.

The 39-year-old was filming a TV interview with the Hollywood actor, but it all nearly went wrong when Edith failed to notice hanging objects that threatened to cause some serious damage.

In an interview with Notebook, Edith talked about her meeting with Tom, as he said: “He actually saved my life. I was over in Spain doing a TV special for one of his films and he saved me from being decapitated by something hanging down that I hadn't seen, by dragging me out of the way.”

She joked: “Which is just the kind of thing you want to be able to say after meeting Tom Cruise.”

The actor, who is father to Connor, Isabella and Suri Cruise, was “great fun”, according to Edith.

“So easy to talk to and a pro, he has a conversation with you and really engages with you,” she said.
