Friction On Set? Shia LaBeouf Says Tom Hardy And Jessica Chastain Left Me Out For A Dog

Tom Hardy and Shia LaBeouf may have played brothers in their new movie Lawless, but it seems that there was little brotherly love going on as Tom struck up a bigger friendship with co-star Jessica Chastain... and a dog.

Chastain told MTV News:"It was not difficult to work with [Hardy] at all."

The actress added: "There was a lot of competition with Scrabble. Most of the behind-the-scenes was games of Scrabble, sometimes we'd have two games going at once."

LaBeouf soon interrupted with his stories about the pair: "They also found a stray dog," added LeBeouf. "You guys had a lot of sweetheart stuff going on. It wasn't just Scrabble, there was a lot of..."

Chastain chimed in: "He totally felt left out," adding: "Because one time, you know what he said to me, he said, 'You always choose Tom's side, Jessica, you never choose my side.' "

LaBeouf then seemed to take issue with their bonding, directly addressing the issue by saying: "Okay, now let me explain, now I'm in the hot seat, Jess. Camera, just you and me, Jess was the mediator. She was the referee a lot of the time."

The actress, who starred in 'The Help', described herself as a "mother hen" before her bad boy co-star added: "Yeah, and so when she's the mother hen and always reffing on the err of Tom's argument, then you're always wrong. And so this is just one of the things you deal with, and there was also this superiority with age and all that stuff,"

Shia seemed particularly put out when he said: "They adopted a dog together. They found a dog on the freeway; that was the set mascot. We all saw it and thought, 'This is sweet. Way too sweet.'"

Shia doesn't seem to have got on quite as well with his own 'Lawless' love interest, as Mia Wasikowska allegedly threatened to leave the movie due to his drunken behaviour.
