Kate Middleton, the Duchess of Cambridge might be six months pregnant, but the royal won't be slowing down her full packed schedule anytime soon and will likely attend engagements until June, it has been confirmed by a spokesperson.

The 31 year-old, who is set to become a mum for the first time this summer will most likely work up until the eight month mark, starting her "royal maternity leave" in June ahead of a mid-July due date.

Despite having a difficult start to her pregnancy, she was hospitalised for three days with acute morning sickness in December at less than 12 weeks, the Duchess has no intention of slowing down her full packed schedule and will be working for as long as she feels comfortable.

"There isn't a set final work date for the Duchess but her last public engagement will likely be in June," a spokesperson confirmed to EntertainmentWise, "she will continue with her usual flow and pace of work until then."

It has already been announced that the royal will be naming a cruise ship in Southampton on June 14, which is just a few weeks before her due date, which the Duchess confirmed last week was around mid-July.

But as she herself joked it's up to the baby, when it arrives.

"It's around mid-July but apparently babies have their own agenda," Kate said last week in Glasgow.

We can't wait for the royal baby to arrive and according to insiders neither can Prince William and the Duchess, who are "closer than ever," as they prepare for the arrival of their first child.

"They've always been close but it's been much more pronounced since she has become pregnant," a source told People magazine.

It comes as speculation increases that William will leave his post as an RAF Search and Rescue pilot, at RAF Valley on Angelsey, North Wales to become a full time royal.

"He's ready for the next step," the insider said of his decision to leave.
