Ryan Gosling Insists He's No Sex Symbol: 'I'm Not Sexy, My Abs Are Photoshopped'

Ryan Gosling is one of the hottest stars on the planet thanks to his roles in 'Crazy, Stupid, Love' and 'Drive' but according to the actor he's not sexy and anyone who says he is is a “liar”.

The Canadian star claims he finds it weird that he's considered a sex symbol and believes it's only because he's in the movies that people would even consider him attractive.

“I’m as uncomfortable with it as I am talking about it,” the Metro reported him saying.

“I know from just being a guy and looking at a billboard and you’re like: 'That guy’s not a sex symbol. They’re trying to sell that on us? No way! That’s never gonna stick.' And then suddenly he’s like a huge deal and you can’t believe it. I used to hate on those guys and now I am one.”

The star even claims that his toned abs in 'Crazy Sexy Love' were part of the Hollywood dream machine and that in the past have “absolutely” been photoshopped to appear more hunklike.

Speaking of his famous stomach he claimed: “It’s the only reason for it! It’s the only thing I got."

“And as a by-product you have to talk about your abdomen to complete strangers on a daily basis,’ he complains.”

Despite millions of girls swooning over him and constantly being voted one of the sexiest men on the planet, the 32 year-old insists it's not Ryan Gosling people love, just the people he plays.

“I mean, film romanticizes people,” he explained.

“And people associate you with the roles you chose. They cut out all the bad bits, you come to set and they put make-up on you and nice clothes, and they put music underneath what you’re saying, and it’s not fair. It’s not fair to everyone else.”

Adding: “You show me someone who really thinks that and I’ll show you a liar. It’s not true.”
