Twilight Love Affair Is Definitely Over! Kristen Stewart And Robert Pattinson Lose Teen Choice 'Liplock' Award 2013

It was the climax to their on-screen romance, but looks like Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart's chemistry in Twilight: Breaking Dawn Part 2 wasn't enough for fans to vote their kiss the Choice Liplock at this year's Teen Choice Awards 2013 as the gong went instead to Man Of Steel lovers Amy Adams and Henry Cavill.

Rob and Kristen played lovers Bella and Edward for the final time in Breaking Dawn Part 2, hitting the big screen last November, but while they won in every other category including both picking up best acting awards for a romantic movie, when it came to their onscreen partnership fans clearly weren't convinced as they failed to win the gong.

Previously they'd picked up the award in 2009 and 2010 for Twilight and New Moon but have missed out on the last three years. Neither of the stars were there to collect any of their awards despite both being in Los Angeles, no doubt to avoid any press attention on the couple's break up earlier this year after four years together.

While it had been speculated they may attend, it was left to Taylor Lautner to represent for the Twilight cast on the night.

We're not surprised the couple decided to avoid the spotlight, while they've always spoken out about how much they appreciate what Twilight did for their careers, writer Stephanie Meyer, admitted in an interview in March this year, she felt guilty to the attention it's brought to their personal life.

At least Bella and Edward had a happy ending: Twilight lovers (WENN)

“Here’s the thing: there are some actors who are looking to be world famous, to be that household name, and although they might discover that there are a lot of negative things involved in that, it’s what they want," she told The Times, "But that doesn’t apply to Kristen and Rob. That’s what makes it kind of ironic and tragic.”

“If they had the choice,” she said, “I’ve no idea if they’d even do Twilight again. I just don’t know. I think this has all come at a heavy price.”

Currently they're both working on new projects that couldn't be more unlike their Twilight characters, Kristen in indie army flick Camp X Ray and Pattinson in another collaboration with director David Cronenberg.

It was reported earlier this year the end of Twilight may have been a factor in the couple's split as they attempt to establish themselves away from the vampire saga.

“They don’t have a Twilight movie to return to; when they had those movies they fell back into why they fell in love in the first place,” a source told HollywoodLife. “It just felt right that they were a couple during the filming of those films. When Kristen and Rob were filming the Twilight series, this was where they fell in love. It was like going back to a honeymoon or renewing their vows."

"They don’t have that now, so add that with the other stuff, and you can see why their relationship has strained," they added.

While they avoided a public meeting, Rob was spotted at Kristen's Los Feliz mansion earlier this month where, according to X17Online.com he stayed for a two hour visit but with E! News claiming that Kristen was not home.

We wonder if they were deciding on whether to attend the awards or not?

One things for sure though, it looks like Twilight is over for good *sob*!
