Tennessee Titans linebacker Wesley Woodyard says he expects the crowd to be "way louder than in America" when his side meet the Los Angeles Chargers at Wembley on Sunday.

A record-crowd of almost 85,000 whipped up a terrific atmosphere as the Seattle Seahawks beat the Oakland Raiders at the national stadium last weekend in the first game of the NFL International Series.

The Titans arrive in London as one of only three NFL teams to have never played in the series, and Woodyard says his side are ready to make up for lost time by putting on a show for the British crowd.

"This is our first time playing here so it's a first time for us to really take advantage of winning some new fans over here and letting everybody know what we do in Tennessee," he said.

"I hear the fans outside the country, out of the US, are way louder than in America, so I'm excited."

Woodyard has been out for two weeks with a shoulder injury, but took full part in the Titans’ first practice session in London on Friday afternoon and should return to face the in-form Chargers.

Without Woodyard, one of their defensive captains, the Titans have slipped from 3-1 to 3-3, with demoralising losses against the Buffalo Bills and Baltimore Ravens, the latter a 21-0 shutout defeat.

"It was really tough,” Woodyard said. "Especially seeing my guys out there not being able to get a victory. I feel like that was my fault and I let them down.

"But I'm excited to be back out there making calls and making plays. It's my first game back after being injured, stepping on Wembley field, so I'm excited about it."
