Feb 28 (The Sports Xchange) - Defenseman Mark Pysyk, a top prospect of the Buffalo Sabres, was taken to a hospital in Rochester, N.Y., on Saturday after collapsing during a pickup basketball game, the Democrat & Chronicle reported. Pysyk, 23, was alert and his vital signs were close to normal when he was transported to the hospital, the newspaper reported. Pysyk had been reassigned to the Buffalo Sabres' American Hockey League affiliate in Rochester on Friday and played in the Americans' 4-3 overtime loss to the Toronto Marlies. The Sabres' first round pick in 2010 had played in three games this week for Buffalo, scoring the winning goal Tuesday against the Columbus Blue Jackets. - - - The Anaheim Ducks acquired forward Tomas Fleischmann from the Florida Panthers for forward Dany Heatley and a third-round pick in the 2015 NHL Draft. Fleischmann, 30, has seven goals and 21 points in 50 games this season. He had career highs of 27 goals and 61 points in 2011-12, his first season with the Panthers. Heatley, 34, was scoreless in six games with the Ducks this season. - - - The Washington Capitals acquired defenseman Tim Gleason from the Carolina Hurricanes for defenseman Jack Hillen and a fourth-round pick in the 2015 draft. Gleason, 32, has one goal and six assists in 55 games this season. Hillen, 29, has earned 71 points (13 goals, 58 assists) in 301 NHL games with the New York Islanders, Nashville and Washington. He has recorded five assists in 35 games with the Capitals this season. - - - The Columbus Blue Jackets activated goaltender Sergei Bobrovsky off injured reserve. Bobrovsky, 26, has missed the past 15 games, as well as the 2015 NHL All-Star Game, after suffering a groin injury at Winnipeg on Jan. 21. - - - The Chicago Blackhawks reassigned defenseman Kyle Cumiskey to the Rockford IceHogs of the AHL.
