Niall Horan recording debut solo album very soon

Following the release of his debut solo single This Town, Niall Horan has now revealed that he has been hard at work writing new material for his debut solo album, which he will start recording “very soon.”

In a handwritten message to fans that was sent out via his email newsletter (and arguably the cutest thing that we’ve ever seen), he wrote: “I’m doing the final bits of writing over the next couple of weeks and then it’s time to record the album. Can’t wait to share the album with you all.”

The 23-year-old singer also kept the One Direction fandom in the loop on what’s been going on in his life, including the details of a recent trip to Nashville, TN, where he worked on his solo material.

He explained: “I did a writing trip to Nashville, which was amazing. Wrote some good stuff and met some cool people.”

Niall then took the opportunity to thank fans for their reaction to his new single, writing: “Thank you for your incredible reaction to my first solo song. I’m simply blown away by the love This Town is getting.”

He added: “You never fail to surprise me with your passion and support.”

The former boyband star will perform his new single on The Graham Norton Show on BBC One on Friday night, and (proving he’s completely human) admitted that he is slightly nervous about making the appearance alone.

“I’m doing my first TV performance this week on Graham Norton which is really nerve-wracking and exciting all at the same time,” he said. “I’ll be doing other TV shows over the coming weeks too, so listen out for news on that.”

As always, we’ll keep our ears to the ground Nialler.
