Nick Knowles got 'wedged' in as he explored Grand Canyon for TV show
The TV star, who gained four stone during the coronavirus pandemic, said it was 'terrifying'
Nick Knowles has revealed he ended up wedged in a narrow crevice in the Grand Canyon after packing on the pounds during lockdown.
The DIY SOS star - who previously admitted that he gained four stone during the pandemic - got stuck as he was working on his new show, The Grand Canyon with Nick Knowles, and admitted it was "seriously terrifying".
Opening up on Radio X, he said he had palpitations and had to remind himself to breathe after getting wedged in.

"You have to go through ‘horizontal chimneys’ which are for real cavers, who are like whippets, they’re tiny, skinny people," he said.
"But my director was like, 'Go through here, and there’s a cave on the other side which we can talk in'. But halfway along, I was like, 'I can’t do this, this is just too much'."
Knowles, 60, said he came to a point where he realised he was jammed.
"I couldn’t get my shoulders through and I was wedged," he said.
"My heart started to go and I was, 'Breathe, breathe, breathe'."
The TV star previously shared that he didn’t work out during the first lockdown because gyms were closed and that he “ate all the pies” and enjoyed plenty of banana bread.
And in 2021 he told the Mirror that his weight crept up and that by the end he’d put on four stone, weighing in at 18 stone.
