Coronation Street actor Ben Price is reportedly bringing Nick Tilsley back to Weatherfield later this year.

Earlier in the year, it was claimed that Price would be returning to the Cobbles to reprise his role, which he left last year after nearly being killed off by quicksan d.

And now sources have told The Sun Online that Price is back on set and his scenes will air in the coming weeks.

An insider said: "Everyone's really excited to have Ben back.

"He was definitely missed during his break but he's back now and it's like he's never been away.”

Coronation Street declined to comment when contacted.

Price was last seen on the Street in June 2017 as he bid a tearful goodbye to his mum Gail Platt – played by Helen Worth – after he decided it was time to move on.

But it has been claimed that Price will be headed back to the Street as the iconic character in a major “bombshell” moment.

Over the years, several actors played businessman Nick, who lost his father Brian when he was just eight.

Nick has been married to Leanne Battersby – played by Jane Danson - twice and Carla Connor, played by Alison King.

Shortly before his exit, Nick has been raising baby Oliver with Leanne but became unable to stand the web of lies he had been caught up in after it was revealed to the Weatherfield residents that the baby was Steve McDonald’s.

Coronation Street airs Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 7.30pm and 8.30pm on ITV.
