TransPennine Express (TPE) will run an extra late-night service from Liverpool to Manchester this weekend.

The additional service will leave Liverpool Lime Street at 11.32pm on Saturday (June 15) to provide another travel option for people attending Taylor Swift's third and final show at Anfield. The service will call at Liverpool South Parkway, Warrington Central and Birchwood, before arriving at Manchester Piccadilly at 12:34am on Sunday (June 16).

For Thursday (June 13) and Friday's (June 14) concerts, the last TPE service will leave Lime Street at 12:18am, running directly to Manchester Victoria. Northern Rail and East Midlands Railway also operate services between Liverpool and Manchester.

Kathryn O’Brien, customer experience & transformation director at TransPennine Express, said: “We are pleased to be able to offer this extra service to help get fans home after enjoying the concert.

“And as customers know all too well, it’s not a bad idea to check before you travel.”

Transport for Taylor's three sold-out gigs at the home of Liverpool FC will no longer be affected by a bus strike. Stagecoach drivers were set to walk out this week, impacting travel to Anfield.

However, the industrial action has been suspended following talks between the bus operator and trade union Unite. As a result, Stagecoach bus services will run as usual.
