Partygoers across Essex who like an early night in bed are able to enjoy the best of both worlds thanks to an upcoming event in Colchester. Popular nightclub Tilogy is hosting a daytime disco later this month.

The Disco Dayze event, which has an entry fee of around £10 and includes a glow stick, will see DJ Trev blast club classics from the 70s to the noughties. Punters have to be older than 25 but those who attend will be able to enjoy retro cocktails and shots as you are transported to the good old days.

Punters will be able to party away from 2pm to 6pm, allowing them to be home in time to catch the late news, Match of the Day, or some other prime-time entertainment.

Jay Smith, owner of Montey's in Harrogate where the event first launched, said: "Our events are about fun, high energy and above all else a friendly and inclusive atmosphere. Colchester is perfect for us. We don’t choose huge soulless venues and try to pack in thousands of people, instead we create an event.

"With nearly thirty years' experience in hospitality, we know it’s about more than just selling tickets. We chose Colchester because we know the locals know how to have fun. We found the perfect party venue at Trilogy, big enough to be an amazing event, small enough to make sure everyone feels special."

Mr Smith added: "Over the years lives change, jobs, mortgages, kids, responsibilities for loved ones. All of these things eat into your time and energy.

"We know from talking to our friends that they still have a huge appetite for letting loose, they just have different time pressures and don’t want a late night! Disco Dayze is the perfect fit.

"Our guests are mainly ladies in their thirties and beyond and they absolutely love Disco Dayze. From the moment we open the doors, the dance floor is heaving and the singing is full volume! We get so many amazing comments from people relieved to finally be able to have a big old night out, but still be home in time for tea!"
