Nikita Kuzmin and Layton Williams have revealed the main difference between Strictly and their new show – teasing that there will be “no rules”.

Bad Education actor Williams and dance pro Kuzmin were partners on the last series of the BBC ballroom contest and finished as runners up alongside Bobby Brazier and Dianne Buswell, with Ellie Leach and Vito Coppola lifting the Glitterball trophy. They were huge favourites with viewers and had such a blast that they are teaming up for a new dance show.

Speaking on The One Show, they teased that Layton & Nikita Live! was going to be “fierce”.

“For this show we are bringing what we brought for the show (Strictly) but, like, there are no rules this time, which is fab,” Williams said. “And he likes no rules!” Kuzmin agreed.

“No rules, no regulations, we can just kind of have fun, celebrate,” said Williams. “It’s almost like a thank you to everybody that supported us through our journey.

“It’s going to be fierce, it’s going to be fabulous and it's going to be fearless.”

Discussing the outfits they will be wearing, Kuzmin said: “We have everything you can ever imagine… this man sitting right next to me loves a sparkle, loves a dress, loves a costume, loves anything that is an extravaganza!”

“We want to bring a show that people have never seen,” he added, saying he believes that the duo are “a brilliant combination”.

Kuzmin said he and Williams had appreciated everyone who supported then when they were contestants on the BBC programme and wanted to say a big thank you “and bring even more than what people can ever expect”.

“Expect the drama!” Williams added.

Kuzmin was also quizzed about what Williams was like as a tour partner and said he was the best. “Honestly he is my best bud, he is my best buddy, he is always there for me,” he said.

“He is the one who makes me shine by shining himself. Just the best man to be next to.”

After their tour together, Williams admitted it could be the end of their dance partnership. He pretended to wipe away the tears as he said: "We're just going to hopefully go out with a bang and it might be the last of me and Nikita."
