NJ Transit and Amtrak Trains Stall Due to 'Overhead Power Issues'

NJ Transit trains on the Northeast Corridor and North Jersey Coast lines, along with Amtrak trains traveling between New York and Philadelphia, were suspended due to “overhead power issues” on the morning of June 19.

According to NJ.com, train service halted around 10.10 am and was restored about an hour later before it stopped again at 11.25 am. Service on Midtown Direct trains were diverted to Hoboken.

This footage, shot by Bob Bianchi, shows the interior of an NJ Transit car during the delay. Despite the news that the train would be diverted to Hoboken, Bianchi’s final update states that his train pulled into New York’s Penn Station.

“Rolling back to Hoboken really means going forward to NY Penn,” Bianchi tweeted. Credit: Bob Bianchi via Storyful
