Police said no arrests have been made after a car crashed into a store front in Blackburn.

The incident happened on Monday evening when a BMW, which was parked outside Kebabish restaurant, hit a fence and then slammed into the front of the PC Waves store in Whalley New Road.

Footage from a CCTV camera shows the car veering at speed hitting clipping one vehicle, at high speed, which was parked at the busy traffic lights junction, before crashing into the shop front.

William Ray was the driver of Honda Civic which had stopped at the traffic lights.

He said: “I saw two women in the front seat and they appeared to accelerate.

“They hit my car and my car shot back. Luckily, I did not hit the person behind.

“The front of my car is really heavily damaged and I have been off work all week.

“A man came running towards the women and started screaming at them. He left and so did the women. He came back to take his stuff out of the car and the locked the car.

“It was me who actually who rang the police. I met the store owner and he was really nice and I feel sorry for him.”

William said he wanted to thank all the local people in Bastwell for their kindness following the incident.

He added: “Everyone in the area were offering me food and drink and they were really helpful.”

Speaking on Tuesday owner Muzammil Pardesi said: “I got a call in the evening saying something had happened at the store.

“The damage to the inside of the store is a lot and we have had to close.

“I am not sure what we are going to do at the moment. It is just a lot of stress and anguish.

“I do not know how they managed to hit the fence and then crash into the storefront.”
