No Bad Blood: David Miliband Backs Brother Ed

David Miliband has publically given his little brother a vote of confidence, tweeting #Ed4PM alongside a picture of his postal ballot envelope.

As Ed Miliband pounds the campaign trail ahead of one of the tightest General Elections in decades , he can take some comfort in the fact that one very important voter is in the bag.

Ed admitted during last month's Sky News Channel 4 Battle for Number 10 that relations with brother have not fully healed since their very public battle for the Labour leadership.

"It was a difficult contest between me and David. It was a bruising contest," he said.

But it seems David, who has since moved to New York to head an international aid organisation, is ready to bury the hatchet.

"Proud to have voted #Labour. #Ed4PM," the former foreign secretary tweeted.

His post was met with a mixed response, with a number of people expressing their remorse that it's Ed not David fighting it out for PM.

"Nothing against Ed but would have preferred you as Labour," one person replied.

Another said: "He is gonna loose, and you need to come back and lead".

But when it comes to supporting Labour's campaign, tweeting his backing for Ed may be as far as David is prepared to go.

In an interview with ABC radio, Ed Miliband said his brother had no plans to come back to the UK to campaign for him in person.

"He's got his own job in America," he said.

But Ed did suggest their relationship is on the mend: "He has been sending me very encouraging messages throughout this campaign and I am very grateful to him for that," the Labour leader said.
