Yahoo News 'No family, no friends, no nothing': Sinead O'Connor says she is 'very depressed'
Sinead O’Connor, who has changed her name to Shuhada Davitt and converted to Islam, published a series of concerning tweets this week.
The 52-year-old Irish singer writes that she has been in hospital for months, is ‘very depressed’ and has ‘no family, no friends’ to support her.
On a tweet published on Tuesday she wrote: ‘Hospital all by myself as usual. Is f***ing miserable. Am a walking cash machine. Nobody’s bothered about me unless they want paying. Very depressed.’
She went on to claim she’d been hospitalised for four months: ‘Ain’t been bothered mentioning am suffering very badly from depression. I been in hospital since October. Trying to find a way to get up off the floor. Not sure it’s possible in the face of what’s been done to me. Any and all prayers would be greatly appreciated.’

The singer, who had international hits with Nothing Compares 2 U and Take Me to Church then said she had ‘no family, no friends, no nothing.’
She wrote: ‘Different hospital now for two days for surgery. Then back to St Pats. Where it seems I live. If you can call it living. I just call it not dying. Ain’t the same thing as living. In fact it’s limbo. No family no friends. No nothing #One of Millions’
The hashtag ‘One of Millions’ is a reference to the millions of people around the world that suffer from depression and other mental health disorders, O’Connor explained in a further tweet.
#OneOfMillions is a shout out to every person suffering mental illness who has been abandoned by those whose fiduciary duty it is to take care of them.

O’Connor reveals in other tweets that she is in hospital for surgery on two slipped discs. These tweets come over a year since she announced that she was living alone in a Travelodge hotel in New Jersey, USA and was having suicidal thoughts.
Fans of the singer flooded her tweets with messages of well wishes. One wrote: ‘Stay strong. There are more people out there that are thinking of you and wishing you well’ and another: ‘Makes me sad reading this. I wish I could help.’
