Lyndon Arthur believes Liam Cameron should be lucky he has been offered the chance to fight him - as well as opening up on what he learned from his defeat against Dmitry Bivol.

The bout will be contested at light-heavyweight and is Arthur's first fight since he was beaten on points by Bivol just before Christmas. The 33-year-old lost every round against the Russian.

Cameron, on the other hand, retired from boxing in 2019 when his appeal against a four-year doping ban was rejected. However, he returned to the ring last year and picked up a points win over Robbie Connor.

The WBA Inter-Continental title is up for grabs on Friday night, and Arthur has warned O'Connor that he is not only going to beat him but stop him at the Bolton Whites Hotel.

He said: “The opponent could've been anyone, I just need to win. He should be thankful that we've picked him. This is his opportunity, this is a bigger fight for him than me.

"It's a banana skin fight, I have to be on my A-game. I have go to avoid the banana skin. I am excited for Friday. He said he believes he can knock me out?! It is going to be an exciting fight, and one I think I win by stoppage."

Reflecting on his defeat to Bivol, Arthur added: "I learned that Dmitri Bivol is very good at boxing. I learned that I can adapt to any situation.

“It's no secret that I only had a few weeks to train for that fight, but I did well considering. I showed that I have something in me to get through the rounds with Bivol.”
