'No Time For a Stroll': People Wade Through Severe Flooding in Broward County as Rain Continues

A man was surprised to see people wading through floodwaters in Florida’s Broward County on Wednesday, June 12, as heavy rain continued in the region.

Footage taken by Leon Zhivelev shows throughout Wednesday afternoon shows torrential rain, high floodwaters submerge a car, and two people walking down a street in Hallandale Beach.

“You are not going for a stroll right now,” Zhivelev says in the video, adding that it was “no time for a stroll.”

On Wednesday afternoon, the National Weather Service (NWS) warned rain was falling at rates up to 6 inches an hour in the region and a flood watch would remain in effect through Thursday evening. Credit: Leon Zhivelev via Storyful
