The complete list of candidates for next month’s local council elections in North Tyneside has been confirmed.

This year’s local election in North Tyneside is an ‘all out’, meaning all 60 council seats are up for grabs. In addition, the political map of North Tyneside has been re-drawn with 12 newly named wards.

Voters must also display some form of photographic ID to cast their votes. The public has until 11:59 pm on April 16 to register to vote. The deadline for postal votes is 5 pm on Wednesday, April 17.

The council’s current political make-up is 47 Labour, 6 Conservative, 4 Community Independents, and 2 St Mary’s independent councillors.
