Norwich City fans bid farewell to club goalscoring legend Terry Allcock

Norwich City fans gathered at Carrow Road to bid farewell to one of the club's greatest goalscorers.

More than a hundred Canaries supporters lined up outside the club's stadium to applaud as Terry Allcock's funeral hearse completed a lap of the ground where he scored so many goals.

The club has said it will honour Mr Allcock, Norwich City's second highest goalscorer, at their first home game when the new Championship season kicks off in August.

Known as The Count, Mr Allcock netted 127 goals in a Canaries career spanning 11 years - from 1958 to 1969.

Mr Allcock, a key part of the famous 1959 Canaries side which reached the semi-final of the FA Cup in 1959, died at the age of 88 on June 11.

A requiem mass will be held at St George's Roman Catholic Church in Sprowston Road at 10.30am on Friday, June 28, to be followed by a private, family committal.

His family asks, in lieu of flowers, that people make donations in Mr Allcock's memory to Lord's Taverners - a youth cricket and disability sports charity.
