‘I do not consent’: Brian Harvey shares video of arrest as he asks to take care of his dogs and call his mother

Brian Harvey has posted a video of the moment he was arrested by two police officers at his home over allegations he sent malicious tweets.

The East 17 singer shared a five minute clip to his YouTube channel which showed the officers requesting he go with them to Wood Green police station in north London.

Harvey refuses to consent to the arrest, saying claims he sent inappropriate messages were a “vitriolic attack” on him.

Speaking to the officers he says: “You can’t just come in and spring it on me and not explain nothing. So I’m being arrested? For what?

“At this point I’d like to say I do not consent to this arrest.”

One of the officers says: “I don't really need your consent but go on.”

Harvey continues: “This is a vitriolic attack on myself by someone who is fully aware of my mental position.

“I will go with you voluntarily because you are just doing your job.”

The former singer then asks if he can get changed and bring his dogs in from the garden before having his request to “alert his mum” rejected.

He also asks to see the officers’ ID as he was too “stunned” to ask when they arrived, asking: “I’m not being funny, this is all genuine right?”

A Metropolitan Police statement read: “On Wednesday November 22, a man in his 40s was arrested on suspicion of malicious communications and has been taken to a north London police station. Enquiries continue.”
