It's not been the best summer so far but plans for a sun-soaked adventure on Nottingham Beach are pushing ahead as it returns to Old Market Square later this month. This year's attraction has a brand new Santorini theme, bringing the essence of Greece to the city centre.

The Mellors Group is setting the summer stage with sand, a pool, rides, mouth-watering food, refreshing drinks, and games to keep the excitement going for an unforgettable season of fun in the sun. The beach will open on Wednesday, July 17 and will run until Sunday, September 1.

It will have a bigger and better sandy beach and pool area - with free entry - for visitors to cool off and they can get in the spirit at the new, stylish Santorini-themed beach bar serving a fruity Pimm's or refreshing Aperol Spritz, a pint of chilled beer, or a crisp glass of wine.

Rides and attraction will have something for all the family, including Starflyer, bungee trampolines, hook a duck and bumper boats. Volleyball, salsa dancing and movie nights are also part of the programme.

For visitors craving something tasty, there will be a variety of stalls offering food, drink, and indulgent treats. Embrace the Santorini vibe with hearty Greek gyros or indulge your sweet tooth with Nutella-filled crepes.

James Mellors said: "We are delighted to bring back Nottingham Beach to the city centre. This year, we’ve increased the size of the beach and pool area, rethemed the Beach Bar, and added more rides and attractions to give visitors even more variety.

"Nottingham Beach remains one of the city’s best free summer attractions, and we’re proud to support the community by providing an affordable activity to enjoy during this time of year. Now, let’s just hope the summer sunshine turns up."
