Nottingham Forest appear set for a busy summer transfer window, which is due to open for Premier League clubs on Friday.

Alongside the start of the European Championships in Germany, the period in which clubs can do business officially gets underway. It is Nuno Espirito Santo's first summer with the club, and looking ahead to his first full campaign in charge the 50-year-old will have his sights on further strengthening the squad left to him by Steve Cooper.

But matters are never that simple. As well as incomings, the club will seemingly be forced to navigate the dangerous waters that are the Premier League's Profit and Sustainability Rules (PSR). Plenty of speculation has gone into what Forest can and can't do under financial constraints, as rivals could potentially circle to steal the club's finest talent.

How will it all turn out? Only the time between now and deadline day on September 1 will tell, but for now Nottinghamshire Live is on hand to provide details of the latest transfer news, rumours and gossip from around the City Ground...

Forest face Taiwo Awoniyi tussle

According to The Athletic, there are 'several' teams that hold an interest in Forest striker Taiwo Awoniyi.

The 26-year-old Nigerian international was the club's top scorer during his first year in the East Midlands, then last year missed a chunk of the campaign having undergone groin surgery to correct a long-standing issue.

Still, his lack of appearances are said to not put off any potential suitors. The only named club are West Ham, with new manager Julen Lopetegui said to be keen.

Potential Carlos Miguel delay

For any supporters hoping to see an immediate unveiling of a new signing once the window opens, look away now.

Forest have been heavily linked to six-foot-and-eight-inch-tall goalkeeper Carlos Miguel of Corinthians, with Brazilian media reporting Nuno has found the £3.4m answer to his conundrum between the sticks. However, any official confirmation of the transfer could only arrive in July, claims reporter Bruno Andrade, as the club seek to avoid any financial trouble by including the transaction in their 2024/25 financial statement.

Any deal that is finalised before June 30 would count towards the current 2023/24 financial year for Premier League clubs.

Florentino Luis lined up

With links to Benfica defensive midfielder Florentino Luis re-emerging within the last week, Portuguese outlet Correio de Manha claim Forest are sizing up an imminent offer.

The 24-year-old, who is rated close to £25m, is said to be keen to make the move having had his minutes restricted by head coach Roger Schmidt.

Spurs scout Murillo

Sister site football.london claim that Tottenham Hotspur scouts have identified centre back Murillo as a potential reinforcement for Ange Postecoglou's squad.

The 21-year-old, who only arrived at the City Ground from Corinthians last summer, has already impressed the Premier League's elite with his solid performances to help maintain Forest's top-flight status. He is being eyed in North London alongside VfB Stuttgart's Hiroko Ito.

Forest hijack rivals deal for striker

It sounds like Che Adams has had a turbulent start to the summer as the Scotland international lines up his next destination.

Adams was blocked from leaving St. Mary's Stadium following relegation last summer, but will now reportedly leave for free upon the expiry of his contract. The 27-year-old is said to have been subject to offers from both Wolves and Forest with the former initially leading the race.

However, Football Transfers claim the latest attempt to bring him to the City Ground has blown the Molineux offer away, with the striker on course to join Nuno's side in July.
