A number of people DO know what covfefe means, according to Trump press secretary Sean Spicer

Donald Trump’s ‘covfefe’ tweet set the world alight yesterday, with everyone trying to work out what the bizarre rambling actually meant.

It turns out some people actually DO know the meaning of the word – according to President Trump’s press secretary, Sean Spicer.

He was asked in an interview: “Do you think some people should be concerned the President posted somewhat of an incoherent tweet last night and that it then stayed up for hours.”

After replying “no”, Spicer was asked again: “Why did it stay up so long? Is no-one watching this?”

Giving a fuller answer this time, Spicer said: “No, I think the President and a small group of people know exactly what he meant.”

They seem to be the only people in the world who do know what Trump meant, when he tweeted: “Despite the constant negative press covfefe”.

The tweet was retweeted thousands of times and became the top trending topic in the world before it was eventually deleted.

However, Trump seemed to enjoy the fuss and later tweeted: “Who can figure out the true meaning of “covfefe” ??? Enjoy!”

One person who thinks she has an idea what he meant is his presidential candidate rival, Hillary Clinton.

She joked: “I thought it was a hidden message to the Russians.”

The former US first lady and New York senator then suggested that President Trump and his allies were using Twitter and other social media to sidetrack Americans’ attention from the investigations into the influence of Russia during the election campaign or the Republican health care bill.

She added: ”You can’t let Trump and his allies be a diversion. They are a threat.

“They want to influence your reality. And that is what we’re up against and we can’t let that go unanswered, whether it’s on Twitter, Facebook or anywhere else.”
