Nursery celebrates after receiving top marks from Care Inspectorate

The Care Inspectorate has praised Bannockburn Nursery for providing children with a high quality of care and support.

The Stirling nursery received a grading of ‘5’ (Very Good) in each of the four core evaluations of its service – setting, leadership, staff team and care, play and learning.

It followed an unannounced inspection at the nursery – which provides care for up to 64 children aged three to primary school - by the National Regulator recently.

Among the areas highlighted for praise by the Inspectorate at Bannockburn were: children benefitted from a happy, caring and nurturing staff team; children were actively involved in leading their play and learning; the staff and leadership team were committed to providing high quality care and support; and the voices of families were heard in an environment that is well furnished, comfy and bright.

Sandra Morrison, Principal Early Childhood Educator at Bannockburn Nursery, said: “We are absolutely delighted with our inspection report.

“It’s great that the hard work, dedication and expertise of our staff has been recognised and celebrated by the Care Inspectorate in this way.

“We are passionate about delivering the best possible Early Learning and Childcare for our families in Bannockburn and building positive, nurturing relationships with our children, families and wider community is at the heart of everything we do.

“Creating opportunities for rich, meaningful family engagement is a major part of our everyday practice and we are pleased that so many of our parents and families value and support these opportunities too. The successes reflected in this report are testament to the joint effort of educators and families working together, to create positive outcome for all of our children.”

As part of the evaluation, the inspectorate spoke to several children, families, the manager and staff.
