O2 Silver Clef Awards: One Direction Crowned ‘Best Live Act’ In Category With Adele And Little Mix

One Direction may currently be on a break but they have been named as the Best Live Act at the O2 Silver Clef Awards for the second time.

Beating their superstar contenders – Adele, Ed Sheeran, Little Mix and Muse (amongst others) – the famous foursome are clearly a force to be reckoned with.

The boyband – comprised of Harry Styles, Niall Horan, Liam Payne and Louis Tomlinson – scored more than 60% of the votes to claim the prestigious prize, which is the only award at the ceremony to be voted for by the public.

The awards ceremony takes place in London on Friday afternoon, but all of the winners have been announced in advance.

In response to their win, One Direction said: “Thank you to all our fans for voting. Our live show is so important and it is amazing for this to be recognised by winning the Ticketmaster Best Live Act award for the second time.”

While Jess Glynne scoops up the Best Newcomer gong, Hozier picks up the International Award and Craig David claims the Innovation Award.

In addition to Massive Attack being crowned as the Best Band, Patti Smith will take home the Outstanding Achievement prize, Jeff Lynne will win the Icon Award and Andre Rieu will win the Classical Award.

Congratulations to all of the winners!
