Good news, fans of mid-2000s teen dramas! The OC is being added to All 4, joining Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Angel and Malcolm in the Middle in the ranks of nostalgic favourites the streaming service has been bringing back to our screens since the pandemic began.
The show starred Gotham's Ben McKenzie, Neighbours' Alan Dale, Kingdom Hearts' Willa Holland, Mischa Barton, Adam Brody, Kelly Rowan and Peter Gallagher, and focused on a group of high-class individuals living in Orange County, California, exploring themes of culture clash and materialism.
It's kind of like Schitt's Creek but with more melodrama and very noughties.
The show was a phenomenon during its early years, but following a drop in ratings, it was cancelled after the fourth season. All four seasons will be landing in one go on All 4, and you won't have to wait too long to see them – they'll all be available on January 22.
Near the end of 2019, actor Wilson Bethel (who you might know from Daredevil) opened up about his time on The OC, stating: "What stands out to me is I, basically, got fired from the show while shooting that. Basically, I slept through multiple alarm clocks and showed up to what was not supposed to be my last day of shooting, like, six hours late."
In the same year, creator Josh Schwartz said that there weren't any plans for a revival, but you never know what the future holds.
