'Oh My Gosh!': Indiana Woman Surprised as Tornado Touches Down in Fields Behind House

One of several tornadoes recorded around Indiana on May 7 took a woman in Richland by surprise, as she spotted it touching down right behind her house.

Footage by Dianna Fussner shows the twister, as she exclaims, “Oh my gosh!”

“We were outside watching the sky and saw the tornado develop in the field behind our house,” Fussner told Storyful.

According to the National Weather Service, the tornado was on the ground from 7:47 pm to 7:53 pm and covered 0.77 miles. The service said that “because no damage occurred, this tornado cannot be accurately rated.”

The weather service said “multiple supercells” impacted south central Indiana on May 7. Damage surveys found five separate tornadoes, based on “tree damage and some minor structural damage,” they said. Credit: Dianna Fussner via Storyful
